In Memory of A Special Man of God
‘’ Johnson ti o serious!’’ This was a fond way my amiable brother in-law;
Rev. Johnson Olatuyi used to start conversations with me whenever we
see, it was a friendly reminder of what happened between us when he was
courting my sister.
Since his demise, I have been trying to unravel some questions in my
head, particularly, why he departed at this time. Baba Pelumi, as he was
fondly called by some of my siblings and I was such a pleasant man who
was always in high spirit, so full of life with so much energy. He was a man
of prayer and a great counselor. My wife and I are yet to come to terms
with the reality that our loving elder brother has departed, to be seen no
more for now. His demise is still difficult to absorb.
Though a son in-law to the late patriarch of Ogunkanmi family, Rev. Daniel
Ogunkanmi, he was completely sold out to baba’s vision for the church
until his last breath. He was such a reliable follower who never
compromised for earthly gains.
Rev. Johnson left his footprint on the sand of time. He was diligent and
hardworking having nurtured CGM Mosan and North America to enviable
positions. His role and positive contributions to the Pentecostal Fellowship
of Nigeria, Christ Gospel Mission and indeed the body of Christ are quite
indelible.
One can go on and on…..
May the good Lord grant him eternal rest and give my sister, Oluwapelumi,
Ayooluwa, Oluwagbemiga, Boluwatife and family strength and fortitude to
pull through at a time like this.
We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain with us
throughout our lives, until we meet.
Rest on God’s General.
With utmost respect,
Oluwabori and Eseferuo Ogunkanmi
